Problem
Sri Lankans looking to migrate, study, or work overseas often face a highly fragmented landscape of visa information. They frequently encounter unreliable advice from unauthorized agents, complex application procedures, and opaque cost structures. It is incredibly challenging for aspiring migrants to find trustworthy, localized guidance, making them vulnerable to misinformation and unexpected financial burdens.

Solo product design, architecture, and full-stack implementation.
Solution
To solve this, we built AbroadMaster with a strong emphasis on transparency and trust: Centralized Information Hub: Aggregated and verified country data, visa requirements, and real-world cost estimations (visa fees, agent fees, travel, and living costs) into a single, accessible platform. Free Tools & Community: Implemented a free visa eligibility checker and a community forum where users can share real experiences and review local migration agencies. Pathfinder AI Assistant: Developed a premium, RAG-grounded AI assistant powered by Anthropic's Claude API. To ensure absolute reliability and prevent AI hallucinations, Pathfinder is strictly scoped to answer questions using only the verified content stored in our database. It explicitly avoids giving binding legal advice while citing sources for transparency. Localized Monetization: Integrated PayHere (Sri Lanka's local IPG) to support localized payment methods (Cards, eZ Cash, mCash). Instead of a standard auto-renewal subscription, we implemented a prepaid pass model tailored to the purchasing habits of the Sri Lankan market. Optimized Performance: Deployed the application to the edge using Cloudflare Pages via OpenNext, ensuring blazing-fast load times for users across the region while staying within strict serverless runtime constraints.
